Panzerhaubitze 2000 – Deutsche Artilleriepräzision
Die Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) ist eines der modernsten selbstfahrenden Artilleriesysteme der Welt. Entwickelt von Krauss-Maffei Wegmann und Rheinmetall vereint sie Reichweite, Präzision und hohe Feuergeschwindigkeit.
Ihr 155-mm-L/52-Geschütz erreicht Ziele bis 40 km Entfernung. Das automatische Ladesystem ermöglicht bis zu zehn Schuss pro Minute – ein Rekord in ihrer Klasse.
Ein 1.000-PS-MTU-Dieselmotor bringt das 57-Tonnen-Fahrzeug auf 60 km/h. Die hydropneumatische Federung gewährleistet präzises Zielen auch im unwegsamen Gelände.
Entwicklung und Einsatz
Mitte der 1970er begann die Suche nach einem Nachfolger der M109. 1996 startete die Serienproduktion der PzH 2000, seit 1998 steht sie im aktiven Dienst der Bundeswehr.
In Afghanistan und der Ukraine zeigte sie außergewöhnliche Zuverlässigkeit und Präzision. Ihr modernes Ladesystem und die Elektronik setzen internationale Maßstäbe.

Panzerhaubitze 2000 – German Artillery Precision
The Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) is one of the most advanced self-propelled artillery systems in the world. Developed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann and Rheinmetall, it combines long-range capability, high precision, and an exceptional rate of fire.
Equipped with a 155 mm L/52 gun, the PzH 2000 can engage targets at distances of up to 40 km. Its automatic loading system and digital fire control allow up to ten rounds per minute—unmatched in its class.
Powered by a 986 kW (1,000 hp) MTU diesel engine, the 57-ton vehicle reaches speeds of up to 60 km/h. Its hydropneumatic suspension enables highly stable aiming even on uneven terrain.
Development and Deployment
In the mid-1970s, the German Army began searching for a successor to the aging M109. Serial production of the PzH 2000 started in 1996, and the system has been in active service since 1998.
The howitzer saw combat deployment in Afghanistan and Ukraine, where it proved its reliability, accuracy, and rapid reaction capability. Its advanced loading mechanism and electronics set new international standards for modern artillery.

Model Building Notes
In 1:35 scale (Revell, Meng, HobbyBoss), the PzH 2000 offers highly detailed parts, realistic hatches, and excellent opportunities for weathering. The NATO tri-color camouflage or sand tones work especially well.
